Obituary for Barbara Allen Smith (Lindsay)

Barbara Allen Lindsay Smith’s funeral service will be at Crestwood Chapel at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 21. Mom, 88 years old, passed away on September 18, 2017. Pastor Bill Abbott will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Before retiring, she was employed at J C Penney’s for 35 years. Mom was a member East Gadsden Church of God. She was a shining example of Christian faith. She loved and was loved by everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Joseph David Smith. She was the last of eleven children born to Joseph and Cecelia Lindsay. All ten of her siblings have passed away
She is survived by her daughter, Regina (Mike) Evans, son, Joey (Mary) Smith, Grandchildren Julie (Zack) Daniel, Jill (Chris) Harrison, Amanda Smith, Katie (Anthony) Laperouse, Daniel (Jenny) Smith. Great grandchildren, Leah Smith, Cade Chesnut, Lexie Starr, Carsen Chesnut, Tristen Labat, Joe Smith and Taylor Smith. Sister-in-laws, Lucille Lindsay and Barbara Lindsay and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Layla Wren, Kim Arledge of Mountain Cove Assisted Living, all the dedicated staff, and the residents who became family. Also, Jan, Verlene, Kim and the many others with Kindred Hospice who treated Mom with love and compassion.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren. The family requests no flowers.
