Obituary for Melba Sewell Mecham

Funeral services will be at Crestwood at 2pm with visitation 1-2 on Sunday, April 30, 2017 for Melba Sewell Mecham age 87, Cook Springs Alabama who died Friday, April 28, 2017. Reverend Frank Samuels will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetary. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

She was a long time member of the College Heights Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook who loved feeding her family and friends and sharing recipes. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and knitting. She enjoyed sports, especially watching Alabama football.

Proceeded in death by her husbands Curtis L. Sewell and Walter "Jack" Mecham and brothers Robert Fletcher and Tommy Fletcher. She is survived by her daughters Connie Sewell Wright (Charles) and Naoma Sewell Sparks. Grandchildren Jennifer Jones (Jeff), Geoffrey Jones (Cindy), Sara Wright and Gerri Marie Wright. One great grandson Douglas Jones and several nephews and nieces. Brother Bill Fletcher (Rosalba) of San Antonio, Texas.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff at The Woodlands at Cook Springs. Special thanks to the healthcare providers of the Village at cook Springs for taking such good care of her and loving her every day.
