Obituary for Wade Claxton Gladden

Wade Claxton Gladden, 95, of Gadsden, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016. His funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Gospel Temple Christian Center with Revs. Billy Boatwright and George Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral home, and at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of service.
Mr. Gladden was a member of Gospel Temple Christian Center. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his service during WWII, where he was awarded three purple hearts for his combat wounds. Mr. Gladden also retired from Crown-Dodge with 30 years of service. Mr. Gladden had a selfless, loving spirit that will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his son, Gary Gladden (Marie); brother, Hollis Gladden of Saraland; sisters, Marie Jackson of Saraland and Dalphine Keller of Gadsden; granddaughters, Tiffany Lynne Gladden and Lyndsey Marie Gladden; great-granddaughter, Zaney Jewell Gladden.
He was preceded in death by wives, Jewell Gladden and Hazel Burns Gladden; parents, William and Maggie Wood Gladden; brothers, Clayton Gladden, George Allbon Gladden, Curtis Gladden, and Lawrence Gladden; sisters, Bonnie Harrison and Provy Daniel.
