Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Carol Annette Thomas Ellison, 78, Altoona, who died Tuesday. The Rev. Gerald Deweese will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services. Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Ellison; sons, Chris Norton and Charlie Ellison; grandson, Jacob Garett Hilburn. She is survived by daughters Neva Telisa (Jeff) Hilburn, Amy Michelle (Darren) Gilbreath; son Cameron (Jan) Ellison; grandchildren Jesse Norton, Logan (Brooke) Norton; Ciara (Chris) Fleming; Zach (Stacy) Hilburn, Brittney (Keith) Gaither, McCain Gilbreath; McCartney Gilbreath; Mabrey Gilbreath; great-grandchildren, Zaide Norton, Mason Gaither, Easton Gaither, Everly Gaither, Rylan Fleming, Zander Fleming, Credyn Fleming, Axel Fleming, River Norton, Clementine and baby Hilburn. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Louise Thomas, and many nieces and nephews and special brother in-law Norman Wayne Ellison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia Society , 3500 Lake Drive, Suite 225, Birmingham AL 35243 for "Light The Night" in memory of her grandson Jacob Garett Hilburn. If donations are made, please add note that it is in memory of Carol Annette Ellison for "Light The Night Walk" in memory of Jacob Garett Hilburn. Pallbearers will be son Cameron Keeler Ellison, sons-in-law Jeff Hilburn and Darren Gilbreath, grandsons Jesse and Logan Norton, Zach Hilburn, McCain Gilbreath, great-grandsons Mason and Easton Gaither, Rylan and Zander and Credyn and Axel Fleming and special brother-in-law Norman Wayne Ellison. Special thanks to St. Clair County Home Health, her nurse Gini and Southern Care Hospice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. today until the time of service.
